What we offer
This genuine Victorian mansion with its enchanting garden is one of London’s top entertainment venues and also one of the city’s best kept secrets. The venue is perfect for birthday parties, wedding receptions, press and product launches, corporate events and Christmas parties. Sorry we do not host children’s parties.
We are also proud to offer the UK’s best close-up magicians and other fascinating novelty acts which blend together with Simon Drake’s unique award winning style of enchanting magic and original illusions. All set in a fantasy world of mystery and intrigue.
The House of Magic can be hired for both daytime and evening events. We take great care to tailor your event to suit your requirements and confidentiality is respected if required.
Exclusive hire is ideally for groups of 40 up to 150 guests. The venue is suitable for any season and any time of day. If your guest numbers are under 40 then please consider attending one of our regular shared public evenings.
We can accommodate up to 150 guests for buffet, canapé or bowl food formats. 85 guests is the maximum number for a sit-down silver service dinner unless you utilize the upstairs drawing room in which case guest numbers can rise to 120.
Generally exclusive hire includes: venue hire, tours of The Haunted Cellar, fortune-telling on The Whispering Chair and Simon Drake's Sensational Magical Extravaganza, as well as technical personnel, performing cast, sound and lighting. However the evening schedule is entirely up to you as we are more than happy to tailor each event to suit your requirements.
We also provide a choice of optional extras to enhance your event, which can be explained on your site inspection or better still why not attend one of our public events and see the whole thing in action and try the food. Tickets are fully refunded on event conversion.

Special offer Package
If your event is booked far enough in advance you may well qualify for a special discounted package. These discounted packages are based on the tried and tested format we host on our public events and are a lot more cost effective but only available with our in-house chef as opposed with our approved caterers. Please contact us with approximate guest numbers and your desired date.

Contained in the PDF are guidelines for a fantastic wedding in a remarkable romantic, gothic setting. It would be impossible to outline every service and experience available in a few short paragraphs, or to express in generalised terms the unique, magical atmosphere that is the hallmark of special events in our venue. Also we are happy to guide you on local register offices, photographers, cake specialists and many other suppliers at reasonable prices. There is so much more to it than any ‘list’ is able to convey in this once-in-a-lifetime, incredible, immersive experience!
For product launches we can arrange the Haunted Cellar tours & Whispering Chair readings as an option without the show. Please ask us if you are interested in this. Normally events end at midnight unless you have dancing in which case the event will run till 1.00am. However events without dancing are really just as good with people chilling out, chatting and drinking etc after the show.
